More detail on this person: Lieutenant Colonel Jack C Nelius, 69 JACK NELIUS Peoria Journal Star, The (IL) - Sunday, August 29, 1999 DAHINDA -- Ret. Lt. Col. Jack C. Nelius, 69, of Dahinda died at 4:55 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, at St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. Born Sept. 18, 1929, in Burlington, Iowa, to Jack Donald and Goldie Almeada Drummond Nelius, he married Marylee Dillon in Wauconda. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Dana) Wells of Algonquin, and one granddaughter. An Army veteran, he served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2257 and American Legion Post 285. He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers, retiring in 1991. Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Mike Van Acker will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. Thursday until time of service at the funeral home. Military rites will be accorded by his American Legion post. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
