More detail on this person: Ray, (no one dared call him Huey, except a couple of his flying buddies) first served in Vietnam from Nov 61 through Oct 62. The 57th Helicopter Company was the first helicopter company to land in Vietnam. They floated for three weeks in international waters while President Diem debated whether to go pro western or give in to the communist forces. The first tour was reasonably uneventful. As my husband put it, "the Vietcong hadn't learned how to shoot at helicopters". His second tour was with the 120th Helicopter Company from June 66 through June 67.
