More detail on this person: CHARLES E. "CHUCK" NICKOLLS GROVE - Charles E. "Chuck" Nickolls, 70, of Grove, died at 3:37 p.m. Monday, September 17, 2001 at St. John's Medical Center in Joplin. He suffered an apparent heart attack. Mr. Nickolls was born October 18, 1930 in McKeesport, Pa., to Edward Charles and Gehenna F. Keller Nickolls. He served with the U.S. Army in both Korea and Vietnam. He was an accountant in Virginia, retiring in 1975. He has been a resident of Grove for the past 10 years and operated Nickolls Tax Service. He married Billie Latty on November 11, 1949 in Sulphur Springs, Ark. She survives of the home. Survivors are: three sons, Robin Nickolls, of Santee, Calif., Cary Nickolls, of Berthoud, Colo., and William Nickolls, of Charlottesville, Va.; a daughter, Tracey Hoard, of Chantilly, Va.; one sister, Evelyn Gianpino, of Farmington, Mich.; two grandchildren and four great grand children. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin. Rev. Larry Six will officiate. Internment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the New York Firefighters 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund in care of the mortuary.
