More detail on this person: Mr. David Bruce Norris, 70, died Friday, June 2, 2017, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Camp Creek United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mike Catoe and life-long friend, Rick Holt, officiating. Interment will follow in Bethesda UMC Cemetery, 14246 State Hwy. 200, Great Falls, SC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Camp Creek United Methodist Church. Mr. Norris was born June 11, 1946 in Lancaster County, SC and was a son of the late Dayton Norris and Ruth Hoffman Norris. He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and received his Master's degree in Computer Engineering from Troy University in Alabama. Mr. Norris was a retired Major of the U.S. Army having served for 20 years. He served two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and his last duty was with the Pentagon. After his military retirement, Mr. Norris worked for Harris Corporation and was instrumental in the engineering of satellites that are still orbiting the earth today. He was a member of the NRA and a staunch Republican. Mr. Norris was a member of Camp Creek United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Aileen Greer Norris; four daughters, Andrea Baird of Tullahoma, Tn., Paula Law (Chad) of Satellite Beach, Fl., Jackie Norris of Phoenix, Az. And Virginia Hatcher (Guy) of Indian Harbour Beach, Fl.; two sons, William J. "Dubby" Williams (Leslie) of Grovetown, Ga. and David Williams of Rock Hill, SC; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Cathy Catoe ( Rev. Mike) of Rock Hill and Jan Cunningham(Johnny/Tony) of Lancaster.
