More detail on this person: A helicopter accident late yesyterday afternoon claimed the life of Henry D. Nicholson Jr., a Warrant Officer Candidate assigned to the 1st WOC Company at Fort Wolters. Nicholson was killed when the TH-55 helicopter he was flying crashed approximately 3 1/2 miles east of Mineral Wells while on a routine solo flight training mission. A board of officers is investigating the cause of the accident.

The 29-year-old student pilot was a commercial pilot before enlisting in the Army in November 1966. Nicholson, of Miami, FL, is survived by his father, Henry D. Nicholson Sr., and daughter Julia Alisa, both of Miami. Funeral arrangements are pending.
