More detail on this person: Stuart Michael Oltman, 75, of Scottsdale, Arizona, died December 26th, 2022. Stuart was born September 7th, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Jacob and Edith Oltman. He attended Haverford High School (Haverford, PA) and graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy (Valley Forge, PA). In 1967, he joined the Army, becoming an officer and helicopter pilot. He did a tour in Vietnam from 1969-1970, 1st Cavalry, 227th and 229th battalions, and left the Army in 1975 as a Captain. Medals and commendations awarded in the Army: Air Medal w/ Valor, Purple Heart Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device, Army Aviator Badge, 2 overseas service bars, Army commendation Medal, National defense service Medal. After the Army, he was a civilian helicopter pilot, flying for a variety of private companies and US Forest Service contractors. In 1983, at age 35, he started freshman year at the University of Arizona in pursuit of his undergraduate degree, later transferring to UC Boulder in 1984. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Marketing from the University of Colorado in Boulder in 1988. He spent the last twenty years of his career as Senior Technical Editor of Wing World Magazine and well as writing/editing for other publications such as Motorcycle Consumer News. He is survived by his wife, Hilogene Oltman.
