More detail on this person: Oliphant and his family have lived in Copperas Cove for three years. He was assigned to Company B, 15th Military Intelligence Battalion, 504th Military Intelligence Group at Fort Hood.

He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and a native of Mt. Pleasant.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Oliphant; three sons, Mark Oliphant, Russell Oliphant and Eric Oliphant, all of Copperas Cove; a brother , Sam Oliphant of Tyler; two sisters, Belinda Buchanan of Carthage and Elena Holt of Lufkin.

Escort officer was Chief Warrant Officer 4 Tom Messeder, Pallbearers will be Chief Warrant Officer 4 Terry Clark, Capt. Nick Grant, Capt, Steve Doty, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Ray Cech, Capt Vernie Street and Capt. Michael Diver.

He will be buried in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
