More detail on this person: Randall J. Plese November 27, 1948 - February 7, 2022 San Diego, CA Randall J. Plese was born on November 27, 1948. He passed away from a brief illness on February 7, 2022. Randy loved God, family and country. He enlisted in the Army in 1969 and was a member of the 173rd Airborne Brigade and served as a helicopter pilot in the Casper Aviation Platoon in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. Upon returning to the United States he earned a bachelor's degree from SDSU. He joined the San Diego City Fire Department in 1972 and served for 36 years, retiring as a Captain. Randy was first and foremost a gentleman and a trusted and loyal friend with a huge heart. He gave willingly of his time to help others at a moments notice. Randy was very well read and a lover of history. He and his wife of 33 years, Susan, enjoyed running, swimming, hiking, traveling and entertaining. They were active members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Lakeside for over 20 years. Randy was preceded in death by his brother Mark. In addition to his wife, Randy is survived by his son Chris of Cedar Park, TX; brother Stan of Upland, CA; sister Renelda (Steve) Kidder of Boiling Springs, PA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Randy will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Lakeside, CA.
