More detail on this person: Thomas Richard Pueschel passed away on January 31, 2019. He was born on May 3, 1945 in Holyoke to the late Richard and Erna Pueschel. Tom leaves his wife of 45 years, Gloria (LaFond) Pueschel of Holyoke and two sons, Michael (and his wife Myra Roy) of Beverly, MA and Joshua of Holyoke. He leaves four grandchildren: Aidan, Kenzie, August and Sheppard. He was the brother of Kenneth (Bonnie) of Granby, MA, Larry (Gail) of Naples, FL, Carol Kelliher (Thomas) of South Hadley, MA, and Mark (Judy) of Holyoke. He leaves a sister-in-law in Holyoke: Mildred Rychlik (Donald). Thomas graduated from Holyoke High and attended Valparaiso University and American International College. Tom was a Chief Warrant Officer in the Army and was a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and seven other medals. Tom was employed by National Blank/Avery Dennsion, Titeflex, and Kanzaki Specialty Papers from which he retired. Other than his family, Tom's great passion was art. Through the years, he taught calligraphy and enjoyed oil painting. He also designed and painted cartoons on helicopters, hardboard characters for kids, and handcrafted cards for family and friends. In addition to his parents, Thomas was predeceased by his daughter in law Carla (Judd) Pueschel. Calling hours are Tuesday Feb 5th from 4:00 -7:00 pm at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St., Holyoke. A private burial will be in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam with full military honors at the convenience of the family.
