More detail on this person: Retired U.S. Army Capt. Charles Joseph Pelletier II, 72, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, from complications of pneumonia surrounded by his family and friends. Service: Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at St. Patrick Cathedral, Bishop Michael Olson, celebrant. Interment: 1 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family will receive guests at 5 p.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Cathedral with a vespers and rosary service beginning at 6 p.m. His body will lie in state at the funeral home from noon Wednesday until 4 p.m. Thursday. Memorials: Should friends desire, they can have a part in continuing Chuck's work with donations made to Mother and Unborn Baby Care, 3704 Myrtle Springs Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76116. Chuck was born on Oct. 24, 1943, in Highland Park, Mich., to Charles Pelletier, M.D., and Mary Hankerd Pelletier. He graduated from Notre Dame University in 1965 then attended Eastern Michigan University for graduate school. He served in the U.S. Army, reaching rank of captain. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam, earning Bronze Star for valor, Combat Infantry Badge, and the Distinguished Flying Cross, among others. He was a Cobra helicopter pilot and was severely injured in November of 1970, then retired from the Army because of disability. Chuck was founder and director of Mother & Unborn Baby Care of North Texas. He dedicated his life to saving the lives of unborn babies and the souls of their mothers. Survivors: His wife of 46 years, Pat; daughters, Lisa Irlbeck and husband, Randy, Jennifer Pelletier; sons, Charles Pelletier III, James Pelletier and wife, Stacie, John Pelletier and wife, Kathleen; 14 grandchildren; grand-dog, Henry; and thousands of babies who are alive through his efforts.
