More detail on this person: Robert Owen Peneguy, age 77, resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Wisner and Anna Louise Northrop Peneguy, Jr., brother, John Daniel Peneguy and his wife Bonnie McGlothlin Peneguy and step-son, Harry Gordon Pennington, Jr. (Debra). Bob was the third son of eight children, born in Pass Christian, Mississippi. His childhood was spent in Port Sulfur and New Orleans, LA where he enjoyed sailing, fishing and sports in general. He was a graduate of St. Stanislaus High School, Mississippi State University where he earned his undergraduate degree and University of Southern Mississippi his MBA. He was drafted and entered the United States Army. By the Grace of God (his words), he became Captain Bob, serving with the 571st Medical Detachment Helicopter Ambulance, and a Dustoff Pilot based in Hue, RVN. After serving his country, he worked as a carpenter before becoming an Accountant in Mobile in full agreement with Psalm 103. He married Cynthia and later retired from the Catholic Archdiocese of Mobile after many cancer surgeries as a result of Agent Orange exposure. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Milling Pennington Peneguy, son, Robert O. Peneguy, Jr., step-son Bruce R. Pennington (Andrea), step-grandsons Dr. Elliott G. Pennington (Megan) and Reed M. Pennington, step-granddaughters; Ashley P. Henderson (Collin) and Mary P. Thompson (Matthew), brothers, Edward W. Peneguy (Betsy), William A. Peneguy (Sherry), James N. Peneguy (Cynthia), Michael J. Peneguy (Sherry-dec.), sisters Jane P. Casey, Ann P. Blount, 17 nieces and nephews, other family and friends. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile, AL on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow with Military Honors in Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Pkwy., Mobile. The family will receive guests at a reception in the Pine Crest Funeral Home immediately following the service.
