More detail on this person: Donald R. Proctor, USMC (Ret), 65, went to be with his Lord after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years Pamela Jo Wear Proctor, three children Sara, Donald Ray Jr. (Jenni) and Capt. Adam Drew (US Army) and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. E. Burney Proctor, and brothers Ronald (Ronnie Kay), Robert (Susan), and sisters Connie (Ken), and Pamela (Richard). He was preceded in death by his father the Rev. E. Burney Proctor, a minister at Willow Oaks Pentecostal Holiness Church. Don grew up in Memphis and joined the Marine Corps, serving as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War, retiring after 21 years from the service as an A-6 jet pilot. He continued his career flying commercial jets for his company DP Enterprises. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org or to the World Missions at Second Presbyterian Church, Memphis, TN. Visitation to be held Monday, August 13th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the sanctuary lobby of Second Presbyterian Church, 4055 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38111. Funeral service to be held Tuesday, August 14th at 9 a.m. at the same location with Interment following at 11 a.m., at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill-Irene Rd., Memphis.
