More detail on this person: Edwin R. Phillipsen, III, 73 of Fort Collins, formerly of Greeley passed away August 8, 2017 at The Suites at Fort Collins. He was born December 20, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Greeley in 1976 to attend graduate school. Ed, a licensed mental health professional, believed in service to others. In additional to his 35 year career as a psychologist, he was a highly decorated former military officer who served his country as an infantry officer, instructor pilot and helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War. Additionally, he served 8 years on the Greeley City Council, four as Mayor Pro Tem and also served on numerous commissions and boards within the city of Greeley, Weld County and state of Colorado. He loved to read, write and travel, joys that enriched his life to the very end. Survivors include his daughter, Leslie Ann (Shane)Bennett; granddaughter, Bostyn Kay Bennett all of Fort Collins and twins due on his birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to "A Woman's Place" in care of Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. Friends may leave condolences at adamsoncares.com.
