More detail on this person: Stephen K. Phipps PEORIA - Stephen K. Phipps, 76, of Peoria, IL, originally from Lancaster, OH, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born on August 2, 1945, in Lancaster, OH, to Roy and Charlotte (Kruckeberg) Phipps. He married Leslie Barra on October 8, 1983, in Peoria. He is survived by Leslie, his wife of 38 years; his four children, Michelle Lindee, Stephanie (David) Hohmann, Jennifer (Gary) Darrow and Ryan Phipps; ten grandchildren, Shelby Phipps, J.T. Jackson-Hohmann, Shannon Jackson-Hohmann, Griffin Darrow, Cassidy Darrow, Dylan Lindee, Lillie Phipps, Damon Lindee, Jack Phipps and Vince Hohmann; and two great-grandchildren, Arya Henderson and Oliver Henderson. He is also survived by his sister, Dottie (Gary) Young. He was a Med-Evac pilot in Vietnam and ran 636 missions with 1605 patients and 618 combat hours. He retired from the army on November 13, 1992, as a CW4/W-4. As per his wishes, there will not be a funeral, but will be a private celebration of life with family only.
