More detail on this person: While with 377 MED in Korea, a U.S. medical evacuation helicopter carrying soldiers wounded in a clash with North Korean troops crashed along the western sector of the DMZ. He was a thoracic surgeon stationed at the 121st Evacuation Army Hospital at Fort Dodge, Korea. He and 5 other service members were killed when the medical evacuation helicopter they were in crashed and burned near Fort Dodge. They had just picked up several members of the 2D Infantry Division who were wounded in a fire fight. He was the attending doctor on the flight.
