More detail on this person: LtCol John "Jack" Pipa passed away 12/5/2020 after a long and valiant struggle with pancreatic cancer. Jack was a Cobra pilot with VMO-2 flying out of Marble Mountain. After flying many gun cover missions for the Purple Foxes, he requested and received a transfer to our squadron. He was our XO '69-'70. Following retirement from the Marine Corps, Jack served as a federal judge.
