More detail on this person: Stephen Richard Patterson of Garrison NY and Puerto La Cruz Venezuela died in a plane crash on October 28, 2002 in San Julian Venezuela. Mr. Patterson was born November 14, 1945 to the late Arthur and Marion Rose (Short) Patterson in Rochester NY. He graduated from Massanutten Academy Woodstock Virginia and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Science from the University of Nebraska in 1973. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, awarded the Silver Star while serving from 1964-1968 in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. Living family members include Jeanne; a daughter Lucia of Ypsilanti Michigan; a son Dereyk of Northampton Massachusetts; aunt and uncle Ruth and Bob Ketner of Escondido California; cousins Pam and John McCoy of Escondido California; Karl, Sharon, David and Matthew Herbert of Moreno Valley California; Claudia, Lee, Michael and John Whitney of Goleta California and a nephew Arthur Stephen Patterson of Royal Arkansas. His brother Arthur Stewart Patterson predeceased him. A mass of burial was held on November 5 at Jardines El Cercado in Guarenas Venezuela. A celebration of his life will be held in the spring.
