More detail on this person: Steven B. Pinkston, age 70 of Hamel, IL, died Monday, July 01, 2019, at his home in Hamel, IL. He was born on Wednesday, December 29, 1948, in East Saint Louis, IL, the son of James and Mary (nee Brouse) Pinkston. On Tuesday, May 01, 1973, he married Terri L. Pinkston nee Harbin who survives. He was a member of IATSE Local 6, Stagehands, St. Louis, MO (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees). He was born in E. St. Louis, IL; grew up in Cahokia, IL, raised by his father and grandmother. He graduated from Cahokia High School. He was a US Army veteran, served from 8/1967 to 12/1970, one year overseas during the Vietnam War, He was honorably discharged as a Chief Warrant Office and helicopter pilot. After his return from the Army he was a film editor for Channel 11, St. Louis. Later he joined the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 6, St. Louis, and was a stagehand from 7/1972 to 2004 when he retired. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Team, vacations, cruises, visiting family, barbecuing and collecting knives. Survivors include: Wife - Terri L. Pinkston (nee Harbin), Hamel, IL Sister - Janice (Robin) Chapman, Van Buren, MO Brother - James Allen (Vicki) Pinkston, Pace, FL Step Sister - Joyce Chandler, Texas, Brother In-law - Philip (Som) Harbin, O Fallon, IL Brother In-law - Michael Harbin, Mount Olive, IL Sister In-law - Carla Harbin, Jerseyville, IL Many Nieces and Nephews Many Great Nieces & Great Nephews. He was preceded in death by: Father - James C. Pinkston Mother - Mary Pinkston (nee Brouse) Grandmother - Ilene "Toots" Pinkston Step Sister - Darla. Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel, IL. Graveside Service will be at 12:30 PM on Monday, July 08, 2019, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
