More detail on this person: Richard Pfadenhauer Hawk Eye, The (Burlington, IA) - Tuesday, March 6, 2001 Richard "Dick" Charles Pfadenhauer, 67, of Middletown, died at 6:18 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Genesis East Hospital in Davenport. Born July 20, 1933, in Burlington, he was the son of Harry Charles and Dorothy Josephine Mewes Pfadenhauer. He married Darline "Jo" Bogener on June 12, 1955. They later divorced. Mr. Pfadenhauer retired as a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force in 1973, and was a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Air Force, he returned to the Burlington area and served as operations manager for Chittenden-Eastman Furniture Co. until retiring. He was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ. Survivors include four daughters, Pam (Rikki) Powell, Donna (Larry) Sterrett, Terri (Bill) Miskovic, all of Burlington, and Sandy (Tony) Klote of St. Louis, Mo.; one son, Jim (Rhonda) Pfadenhauer of Burlington; three sisters, Phyllis McIlhenny of West Burlington, RuthAnn Frost of Mount Pleasant and Diane Lile of St. Louis, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his special friend of 20 years, Betty Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. The celebration of the life of Mr. Pfadenhauer will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Vicki Engelmann officiating. Burial will be in Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk. Memorials have been established for his church and the Cardiac Unit of Genesis East Hospital.
