More detail on this person: Kenneth K. Pfaff, 69, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Island. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 PM on Friday, November 7, 2014, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island, following the memorial service. The Vietnam Vets Chapter #299 will perform Military Honors. Memorials may be made to Grace Bible Fellowship food pantry, Moline. Kenneth was born July 19, 1945, in Rock Island, the son of Keith and Johanna (Kosla) Pfaff. He married Linda Larsen on May 3, 1975, at Broadway Presbyterian Church in Rock Island. Kenneth graduated from Rock Island High School, where he played football. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, flying the "Huey" UH-1 Iroquis and OH13A Sioux helicopters for Medevac operations. Kenneth was promoted to the rank of Captain and awarded the Bronze Star and Air Medal for his support of Ground Operations Against Hostile Forces. After being discharged from the Army, he joined the Iowa National Guard Reserves, Davenport. When he joined the reserves he chose to drop his ranking so he could keep flying Chinook helicopters. Kenneth will be remembered by his wife of 39 years Linda Pfaff, Rock Island; his two sons Jonathan (Jennifer) Pfaff and Will (Jennifer) Pfaff, both of Rock Island; his six grandchildren, Lillian, Blaker, Carter, Sydney, Grace, and Morgan; and his mother-in-law, Joan Larsen. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Doris Ann Reilly.
