More detail on this person: CW3 (Ret) Printer Voyle "Hoss" Plumlee, 84, of Enterprise, Alabama went to be with the Lord on January 1, 2021 at Medical Center Enterprise. He was born on October 20, 1936 in Texarkana, Arkansas to the late Robert Plumlee and Ila Rupert Plumlee. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Allen Plumlee, Robert "Pokey" Sloan, Wayne Wilburn; sisters, Marie Riley Barker and Lila "Twyla" Ann Jackson; and grandson Greg Terry Clark. He is survived by his "first love" and mother of his three children, Dorothy Sue Plumlee; daughters, Mickey Alleen Burroughs (Marshall), Tracy Diane Robinson, and Twyla Marie Clark (Gary); five grandchildren, Andi Ray (Nathan), Melina Stowe, KL Robinson, Shane Clark (Wendy), MaRanda Robinson (Sean); seven great-grandchildren, Deven and Kode Stowe, Angel and Dixie Robinson, Allison Clark, Dalton and Oaklyn Robinson; sister, Carol Morris; nephews, Roger and Printer Plumlee; niece, Dana Plumlee; and a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly. Printer graduated from Scott High School May 1955. He enlisted in the National Guard October 1953, United States Army June 1958, and United States Army Reserve Aviation August 1967. He served his country until his retirement November 1977. His service included a tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. He became known as "Hoss" during his military career. CW3 (Ret) Plumlee was recognized for his exceptional technical competence as an instrument instructor pilot and aerial scout pilot. He was not a "yes man" and expressed his own opinions and convictions. He willingly accepted full responsibility for his actions. His desire to excel and devotion to duty earned him the respect and admiration of all with whom he served. He was recognized with a Bronze Star, Air Medal 28th Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal 2nd Award, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, three Oversea Service Bars, Army Aviator Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with seven campaign stars, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device. He was a Master Mason and a member of Carmichael Masonic Lodge 548 in Enterprise, Alabama. He enjoyed blue grass music, playing guitar and singing karaoke with his friends. In his younger years, he enjoyed motorcycles, a good cigar, and could shoot a mean game of pool. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Chelsea Walker with Encompass Health and the staff at Medical Center Enterprise for the care and compassion they provided. A military honors service will be held at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas at a later date.
