More detail on this person: Carl P Press, 61 CARL P. PRESS Daily Press (Newport News, VA) - Friday, September 13, 2002 Carl "C.P." Press, 61, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002. A native of New Jersey, he had been a Peninsula resident for 33 years. He retired, as timekeeper for Newport News Marine Terminal, on July 31, 2002, after 29 years of service. He was an U.S Army Vietnam veteran and was a member of the Tabb Church of God. He was also a member of the Harley Davidson Club. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn S. Press; daughter, Shelley Chapman and her husband, Randy, of Yorktown; two sons, Michael Press and his wife, Donna, of Shelby, N.C., and Scott Press of Newport News; brother, Michael Press and his wife, Joan, of Wilmington, Del.; two sisters, Janice Cromer of Pennsville, N.J., and Pat Manny and her husband, Al, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren, Jamie Press, Jeremy Press, Rebekah Press, Corey Chapman, Hayley Chapman and Connor Chapman; two step-grandsons, Derek Fox and Ryan Fox; mother-in-law, Viola Seaquist of Warren, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor M.A. Truckenmiller. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
