More detail on this person: Joseph Vincent Joseph Price, 14 Title: DEATH AND FUNERAL NOTICES San Diego Union-Tribune, The (CA) - Wednesday, November 22, 2000 PRICE, JOSEPH VINCENT Joseph, the beloved son of Caryll and Eunice Price of National City, died November 14, 2000 in Phoenix, AZ after a long illness at age 69. He was born July 18, 1931 in San Diego and attended Sweetwater High School. His first love was flying, he started when he was 14 and continued until ill health forced his retirement from aviation. He served 22 years in the Marine Corps and was a Marine aviator from 1953 to 1971, and retired as a Lt. Colonel. His active duty included Korea and Viet Nam theaters. He also served in the Marine Corps Helicopter Squadron in Washington, DC that served as the Presidents personal aircraft pilots. Joe spent his post retirement years in Phoenix, Arizona, still flying to and from Gillespie Field where he had many friends. As a flight instructor, he taught many pilots in the San Diego area, and will be missed by his many professional associates. Survived by his wife Ginger Price of Phoenix, his daughter Patricia Price and his sister Barbara Hunsaker of El Cajon. His remains will be buried in Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery . Donations in his memory can be made to the San Diego Aerospace Museum.
