More detail on this person: Robert E. (Bob) Prince, age 93, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away Friday, April 7, 2023, at Medical City Alliance in Fort Worth. He was born April 3, 1930, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Grover and Sarah Prince. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by Nancy, his wife of 60 years, and by a daughter, Evelyn Lynn Prince and his sister Jean Shepard. Bob was a retired United States Air Force captain, where he served 22 years. He served his country in both Korea and Viet Nam. In Viet Nam, he flew Jolly Green Giant rescue helicopters. He and his team saved the lives of a number of downed pilots. After retirement from the Air Force, he became an elementary school teacher in Camden and then an elementary school principal in Chidester. He then moved to Monticello to be a principal in Dermott. In Monticello, he was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he was a deacon, sang in the choir, and played in the handbell choir. He was also a long-time member of Lions Club where he held several offices, including District Governor. He enjoyed golf and fishing. Bob also collected and repaired clocks and was a master watch maker. A year after the death of Nancy, his wife, he moved to Fort Worth, Texas to be near his daughter and his grandchildren. He became a member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth where he enjoyed attending with his family. Survivors include his daughter Susan Prince Bruster and her husband Tim of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Doug Prince and his wife Marilyn of Longview, Texas; eight grandchildren; Sarah Pepper and her husband Stephen, Katherine Segreti and her husband Alex, Emily Wahler and her husband Chris, Tara Woods and her husband Cully, Cade Prince of Merced, California and Kristen, Kylie and Cole Prince of Genoa, Arkansas. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Alice, Andrew, Luca, Milo, and Weston. A private family graveside service will be held on April 22nd at Memorial Park Cemetery.
