More detail on this person: Leslie James Pyatt, 81 OBITUARIES Fort Worth Star-Telegram (TX) - Wednesday, January 28, 2009 ARLINGTON -- Leslie James Pyatt, 81, a retired U.S. Army colonel, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2009. Funeral: Noon Friday in Lucas Funeral Chapel, 1321 Precinct Line Road. The Rev. Lawrence Hammond will officiate. Interment: 2 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Leslie James, the son of Albert and Vale Humbert Pyatt, was born July 14, 1927, in Newton, Kan. Following service in the U.S. Marine Corps in China at the end of World War II, he joined the Army during Korea. He retired after serving two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and 28 years of service. He was awarded the Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma L. Pyatt. Survivors: Sons, David Pyatt and Bruce Pyatt and wife, Laurel; grandchildren, Calvin, Nigel, Brian, Daniel and Jennifer; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Patricia Tway.
