More detail on this person: Killed in an auto accident in Germany.Jerry was in the gun platoon of the 119th Avn Co in 63 -64 on his first tour. I was in the same unit. We both were in the 2/20th ARA Bn, 1st Cav in 67 - 68. His rank was Major at the time of his death. I was stationed with him at Camp Evans in Vietnam in 1968 before he departed for Germany.

From: Patrick J. Kelly This is a correction to the information listed for the subject individual. Major Jerry D. Pirkle, was my Commanding Officer at the NATO/SHAPE Flight Detachment at Chievres Air Base in Belgium. We supported the SACEUR. Jerry was killed in a single car accident in Belgium and not Germany. He was enroute from the Air Base to his home in very inclement weather and lost control of the vehicle. I was the family escort to his home in Georgia and final resting place at Arlington National Cemetary. From Tom Frizzell
