Quinn, age 74 of Harrison Township, passed away on Monday evening, May 20, 2019 in River Bend Nursing Care in East China Township. He was born on November 27, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late Henry and Devina (Sturrer) Quinn. On November 27, 1985, John was married to Linda Riner in Peace Presbyterian Church in Clinton Township. John served in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam as a Chief Warrant Officer-2 airplane pilot. He was awarded The Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Army Aviator Badge, Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals. He retired as a police officer in the Detroit Police Department. John was a member of Chapter 154 V.F.W. and Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. Mr. Quinn is survived by his wife, Linda, and three children, Daniel (Susan) Quinn, Michelle Quinn and Kathryn Quinn; and six grandchildren. John was predeceased by two sisters, Chris Novak and Ellen Taschner. Visiting hours are on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. in the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens. Full Military Honors and funeral service will start at 6:00 p.m. Private cremation will follow the service.
