More detail on this person: Mr Terry L Ritchey, 63 Terry L. Ritchey Herald Democrat (Sherman, TX) - Sunday, September 11, 2005 Terry L. Ritchey, 63, of Highland Village, Texas passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at the Medical Center of Lewisville. He was born on July 4, 1942 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Luther M. and Earline Henry Ritchey. He graduated from Denison High School in 1960, after which he attended the University of North Texas for three years. He served four years in the United States Army during Vietnam, and was helicopter pilot from 1968-1969. He was with the 4th Armored Division serving as a Chief Warrant Officer, W-2. While in service he received the Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, the Air Medal with three Silver and two Bronze Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a pilot for Braniff Airways and later for Ryan International Air. Terry was very civic minded and was heavily involved as a member of the Lions Club, the Rotary Club and the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. Memorial gravside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie with Dr. Michael Waco officiating. Mr. Ritchey is survived by his mother, Earline Ritchey of Denison; brother, Milton (Butch) Ritchey of Ft. Worth; sister, June Fisher of Little Rock, Arkansas; nephew, Ron and Russ Ritchey of Centerville, Va., Alex Fisher of Little Rock, Arkansas; niece, Melanie Harder also of Little Rock. He is also survived by a host of other extended family and close, dedicated friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Ritchey and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Ritchey and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Henry. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church of Denison building fund.
