More detail on this person: RONNY "CURLY" WAYNE ROSS, 67, passed away Nov. 27, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was a graduate of Ranger High School in the Class of 1961.

Mr. Ross was born March 11, 1943 to William McClain and Pauline Liza Ross in Dublin, Texas. He served in the Dallas Police Department for 30 years and retired at the rank of Sergeant. He was a helicopter pilot in the Viet Nam War and received a Bronze Star for his service in the Army. After retiring in 2002, he moved to Blooming Grove, Texas with his wife Barbara. He became a very active member in First Baptist Church of Blooming Grove and was loved and admired by all who knew him. He gave of himself to everyone in need. He was a very selfless individual.

He was preceded in death by his parents. At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, Barbara; his son, Randy Ross; daughter Rhonda and husband, Matt Welch; grandsons, Will and Cade Welch; sister, Yvonne Maynard; niece, Debbie Slaton; and mother-in-law, Mildred Mitchell Kribbs (RHS-1937). Curly is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

The family is having a private graveside at DFW National Cemetery with a Police escort and military honors.

A celebration of Ronny Wayne Ross will be held on Sunday, December 5th at 3:30P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Blooming Grove Texas with Brother Grady Cashion officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Navarro Unit Memorials at 1000 W. 2nd Ave., Corsicana, TX 75110.
