Sheldon proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the United States Army and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. He was a helicopter pilot and instructor for the Army. Sheldon was a member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He enjoyed computers and flying. He was preceded in death by his parents, Constance and Rosemary (Bonds) Rudzek; one brother, Sherman Rudzek. Sheldon is survived by his wife, Betty (Morris) Rudzek; two children, Barbara Wagoner and Darren Jimerson; several grandchildren; siblings, Donald (Sharon) Rudzek, Richard (Zana) Rudzek, Ronald (Dana) Rudzek, Julena (Rusty) Critchfield, Judy (Warren) Peery, Joann Rehmert and Mary Lou Fagan.
