Gerry was born January 23, 1949 in Cedar City, Utah to Lester and Lura Roberts, where he grew up enjoying playing sports, scouting and attending the LDS church. Gerry graduated from Cedar High School (Class of 1967). After high school Gerry enlisted in the Army as a helicopter mechanic. He later attended Warrant Officer School and became a helicopter pilot. He served in Korea, Germany and different posts in the US. While serving in Germany he met and married the love of his life Carmen Alene Watkins. They were married on March 19, 1984 in the city of Tuengental, Germany just outside the front gate of Schwaebisch Hall Dowlen Barrack U.S. Army Post. After his service to our country, he flew helicopters for an oil company and once had to crash land in the Gulf of Mexico. Later he became a dispatcher for the oil company. Gerry loved hunting, fishing, shooting his guns, making jewelry for everyone and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Carmen Watkins Roberts, mother-in-law Charlsie Kathlene Watkins, sons Christopher (Sheila) May, Michael (Patricia) Roberts, sisters Barbara Perry, Peggy (Lance) Whetten, brothers Wesley (Cheryl) Roberts, Wade (Marilyn) Roberts and Nolan Roberts, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He wasn't just a good man, he was the best husband ever and loved with all of his heart. Carmen was so thankful to be Mrs. Roberts. No one would ever believe our love story. It was special.
