More detail on this person: Mr Forrest Or Mike Platt Reynolds Jr, 52 OBITUARIES Capital, The (Annapolis, MD) - Thursday, May 10, 2001 Forrest Platt "Mike" Reynolds Jr., 52, of Annapolis and previously of Springfield, Ohio, who had 30 years experience in defense, aerospace and marine electronic systems, died of brain tumors May 9 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Fort Howard. Mr. Reynolds was born May 11, 1948, in Clifton Forge, Va., the son of the Rev. and Mrs. Forrest P. Reynolds of Annapolis. He attended school in Riviera Beach and Glen Burnie and graduated from Anacostia High School in Washington, D.C. He attended American University and graduated from Midwestern University in Wichita Falls, Texas. While there, he joined the ROTC and was commissioned into the Army. He earned his pilot's license at Sheppard Air Force Base while in college. A former Army officer, he held numerous senior staff positions. He was a pilot with more than 6,000 hours in the air, and was the Army's chief aircraft systems experimental test pilot. Mr. Reynolds subsequently joined Collins Avionics Division of Rockwell International, where he was head of both domestic and international business development units. As a key systems architect, he was involved in projects such as the Coast Guard's Search and Rescue Helicopter Mission System Integration and numerous international defense and commercial programs. He then formed Reynolds Technologies Inc., a U.S.-based multinational corporation with representatives around the world. He also was market and business director for International Submarine Engineering Ltd. in Canada. Mr. Reynolds was chairman of the board of InterCon Air Group and on the boards of Koral Oceanic and Global Air Cargo. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Alaire Reynolds of Annapolis and Caroline Hancock Reynolds of Canada. Viewing will be from 5:30 to 8:30 tonight at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Services wll be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Antioch Church of the Brethern in Rocky Mount, Va. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
