Register, 59, of Posey Lane, who is the stepfather of a New Smyrna Beach resident, died Tuesday at Bert Fish Medical Center, New Smyrna Beach. Mr. Register, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, retired in 1990 after 23 years of service with the Army. He was born in Valdosta, Ga., and moved to Pompano Park in 1997 from Jacksonville. He later worked as a security guard for Georgia Pacific Paper Co. He enjoyed computers. Survivors include his wife, Duane; a stepson, Vincent, Jacksonville; two daughters, Patty and Andrea, both of Franklin, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Maria, New Smyrna Beach; his mother, Guelda Register, Welaka; two sisters, Doris Jacobs, Pompano Park, and Elmer Luke, Lake Park, Ga.; and five grandchildren. Settle- Wilder, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.
