More detail on this person: Jeffrey Thomas Reaves Jr Jeffrey Thomas Reaves Jr. age 64, of Benton passed away Saturday August 18, 2012. He was born February 21, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee. Jeffrey served his country valiantly through two tour of duty in Vietnam, first as a medic with the 9th Infantry Mobile Riverine Forces, where he received the Purple Heart, Silver Star, Bronze Star with Valor, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and V Device, as well as the Army Aviator Badge. He returned for a second tour as a Warrant Officer with the US Army Air Corp specializing as a Med Evac Pilot. After being honorably discharged he pursued careers in both private aviation and later in mortuary services, the latter for which he graduated with salutatorian honors from Gupton-Jones Mortuary College in Atlanta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Barbara Ann McKay, and his father, Jeffrey Reaves, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Mable Reaves, son, Jeffrey Reaves III, daughters, Christine Reaves and Andrea Reaves-Burns, son-in-law Robbie Burns, two brothers, Donald Reaves and James Reaves. Family comments: A rolling stone at heart, happiest when on the move. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Hills Cemetery by Ashby Funeral Home.
