More detail on this person: Clarence E. "Chuck" Rogers Clarence E. "Chuck" Rogers was born Nov 29, 1942 in Panama, OK and raised in southern California. He died April 8, 2000 in Santa Cruz Bolivia. Services and burial were in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. A graduate of the college o Canyons, Los Angles, CA he came to Star Valley in 1981 and settled in Alpine in 1988. He served in the United States army for 13 years and retired with rank of captain. He served in the Vietnam War in which he commanded Attack Helicopter Platoon with 10 Huey Cobras and commanded Aree-Scout platoon with 10 OH6A Helicopters and was awarded numerous medals for bravery and valor. Chuck was an accomplished commercial helicopter pilot until his death. He flew seismic exploration throughout the Rocky Mountains, drills, logged in Idaho and Oregon, heliskied in Jackson Hold and Telluride CO and was the helicopter pilot for the award winning "MASH" TV series. Chuck won the Pilot of the Year award given by Rocky Mountain Helicopter Inc in 1985. Served as chief pilot for Mountain Rotors headquartered in Jackson Hole and was the recipient of HAI Helicopter Association International Robert I. Trimbel Memorial" Salute to Excellence" award for mountain flying. Chuck is survived by his daughters Carey Lee Rogers of Honolulu, HI, Jennifer Warren of Atlanta, GA, and Sue Rogers of New York City; three grandchildren; brother Harvey Rogers of Lexington SC and sisters Jeffie Wright of New Hall CA, Jean Trottl of Lexington SC and Linda Clymore of Liberty MO.
