More detail on this person: John Andrew Rumney, 57 RUMNEY, JOHN ANDREW Hartford Courant, The (CT) - Saturday, November 12, 2005 RUMNEY, John Andrew John Andrew Rumney, 57, of Ward St., Wallingford and formerly of Colchester, passed away Thursday, (November 10, 2005) at Hartford Hospital. Born Aug. 25, 1948 in Bangor, ME, he was the son of Dorothea (Griffeth) Rumney of Colchester and the late Elmer E. Rumney. He was a 1966 graduate of Bacon Academy in Colchester. Early on, he was a mechanic for D.H. Marvin & Son in Colchester and also worked for Pratt & Whitney before enlisting in the Army to serve during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he owned and operated Star Enterprises and last worked for Royal Coach. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Teri and Carl Wagoner of Rocky Mount, VA; his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and David Paine of Colchester; a niece, Kimberly and husband, Clifford Pixley, III of Colchester and their children, Clifford, IV and Samantha; a nephew, Thomas J. Ladegard of Manchester; his longtime companion, Martha Plaza of Wallingford; his best friends, Ray and Vickie Long of Wallingford; and numerous extended family members and friends. Funeral services with full military honors will be private with burial in Linwood Cemetery, Colchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
