More detail on this person: Carl Phillip Rambo was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on May 5, 1946. He died on June 3, 2018, at home surrounded by family. Carl attained a Master's degree in Communications. He retired from the Air Force in 1991, where he had earned the title of Major, and he moved with his family back to Oklahoma. As a young man, he had multiple jobs before joining the Army and flying helicopters in Vietnam. After four years in the Army, he was honorably discharged, and he took a few years to work and go to the University of Tulsa to get his BA before joining the Air Force and becoming a KC-135 pilot. After he retired from the Air Force, he worked at several more jobs until retiring completely in 2016. Carl's hobbies included stock car racing in the 1980s, but his true passion was photography. He won several awards at the State Fair for his pictures. Carl also loved travel and road trips, which he continued to take until a week before he passed away. Carl was preceded in death by his father Cleo Rambo, his mother Reba Rambo, and his older sister Germaine Herman. He is survived by : His wife of nearly 50 years, Elaine Rambo; his three children, Crystal Raza, Devon Rambo and Amber Medlock; his grandchildren Breanna, Czessia, Anaisa, Katerina, Emiliana, Wyatt, and Aurelia; his sister Joan Williams, another sister, Yvonne Austin, and his brother Bill Rambo. Service 10am Friday, June 8th at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st
