More detail on this person: KENNETH RICHARDSON OBITUARIES Daily Press (Newport News, VA) - Monday, May 24, 1993 NEWPORT NEWS - Ret. U.S. Air Force Major Kenneth Martin Richardson, 64, a native of Providence, R.I., and a Peninsula resident for 30 years, died Sunday, May 23. Mr. Richardson retired in 1972 from Langley Air Force Base after 29 years of service, having served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam military actions as a helicopter and fixed wing aircraft pilot. He was the owner of Morrow's Nut House from 1975 to 1978. A Protestant, he was a member of Eaglewood Golf Club at LAFB, and American Association of Retired Persons. Military decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 11 Oak Leaf Clusters, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Korean Service Medal with Three Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Korea Pusan Campaign Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal with One Bronze Service Star, Air Force Longevity Service Award with Five Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with One Oak Leaf Cluster and the Air Force Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. Survived by his wife, Barbara V. Richardson; three daughters, Roxanne V. Ackley and Sharon Richardson of Newport News and Brenda S. Yetter of Yorktown; a son, David M. Richardson of Williamsburg; a sister, Linda L. Streeter of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; two brothers, Lloyd S. Richardson Jr., of Memphis and Robert McGuire of Bartow, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Graveside service in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, with full military honors.
