More detail on this person: Major William J. "Bill" Richardson Major William J. "Bill" Richardson (retired, USAF), age 80, passed away September 24, 2012 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Bill was born January 2, 1932, in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Frederick and Sylvia (Hill) Richardson. Bill served his country proudly as a US Air Force Pilot during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, garnering many decorations including the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal and Air Force Commendation Medal. He was also a long-standing member of the Landman's Association. He is survived by his daughter, Lee Margaret Ayers (Todd Pistorese); step daughter Erika (Chad) Phelps; stepson, Brent (Lana) Bertschi; two brothers: Thomas (Donna) Richardson, and Patrick (Joy) Richardson; grandson, Nicholas Firestone; and four step grandsons, Chase Phelps, Chance Phelps, Zach Bertschi and Coty Bertschi.
