Roberson, 82, of Columbus died Wednesday January 30, 2008 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home. Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be held 3:00 PM Friday February 1, 2008 at Ft, Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA. Mr. Roberson was born June 12, 1925 in Decatur (Morgan County), AL to the late Virgil and Inez Roberson. He was an operations supervisor at Lawson Airfield with the Civil Service. He was a retired CW4 with the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong member of the VFW Post 228 in Phenix City, AL. He loved to play golf and was a member and a marshal at Maple Ridge Golf Course. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Geneva Roberson of Columbus; daughter, Genell Shouse and husband Del of St. Augustine, FL; son, Jimmie Roberson and wife Camille of Columbus; four grandchildren, Capt. Jody Shouse (Amy) of Washington, DC, Matt Shouse (Gina) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Cindy Harrell (Daniel) of Phenix City, AL, Nikki Barron of Columbus, GA; great granddaughter, Cambell Shouse; sisters, Clara Bell Harris and Lila Nickens of Decatur, AL.
