More detail on this person: Donald R. "Rocky" Rochau Donald R. "Rocky" Rochau, 79, died Tuesday, April 9th at Mercy Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral Services with military honors will be held at 11am, Saturday, April 13th at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service. Graveside Services will be at 1:30 pm Saturday at Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 to 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Foundation for the Tippie College of Business or to Iowa City Hospice. Don was born on September 23, 1933 in Wilton Junction, Iowa, the son of Roland (R.H.) and Thelma Arp Rochau. He was a 1950 graduate of Iowa City High School. Don received his BBA from the University of Iowa where he was in the Army ROTC from 1953-55. Don was active duty military for thirteen years. He served in the Vietnam War and was ranked 2nd Lt. Colonel. He continued serving in the Army Reserves where he attained the rank of Major. Don was employed with the U.S. Department of Labor as a manpower development specialist, retiring in 1991. Prior to relocating to Iowa City in 2009, Don lived in Hanover Park, IL. His membership schedule included Sigma Phi Epsilon at UI, the VFW, Coralville American Legion and Zion Lutheran Church. Don is survived by his sister Arlene Passmore and brother-in-law Merlyn Spilger, both of Atalissa; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Bernice Johnson, Phyllis and Dorothy Spilger; brothers-in-law Donald Passmore and Harold Spilger.
