More detail on this person: Myelodysplastic Syndrome that advanced to AML.My name is Cynthia Ross Barr and I'm looking for anyone who might have been with or known my Father, Fred Ross 71-72, Was with 1st & 2nd Corp area stationed at Hoi an, Long bein, & Tay Ninh, initially assigned to the 159 Avn Bn commanding A co assigned to the 12 combat AVN group, responsible for group maintenance programs and later took command of B Troop 3/17 air cav sqdn. Shot down in Cambodia 1 day prior to coming home. Walked out. Any help would be appreciated,

He received 27 air medals among other things. He was shot down in Cambodia the last day he was there and gave up his command. Walked out that time. My father passed on May 21, 2006 with Myelodysplastic Syndrome that advanced to AML. I initially started trying to find people to see if you guys knew of others who were having medical problems. But when I went into the Cav site, I got caught up with reading what all the guys had written. Thinking it has been 30 years but you guys just never really leave there do you? Some of the names that I did find among my fathers things was Jack Watkins, Monti Veal, Ralph Hamner and Edward Landry. But I don't know what tour they were in. Do you know how I research the 2nd or 3rd Corp area? Do they have sites like the Cav? Anyway, I appreciate you writing back. I loved my Dad more than life itself. I miss him terribly but he had a hard death. Being a nurse, that part was easy to let go but as a daughter you just can't.
