More detail on this person: Gary Lee Royal Robinson, 61 Gary Lee Royal Roswell Daily Record (NM) - Thursday, May 29, 2008 A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Bethel Baptist Church, for Gary Lee Royal, 61, of Roswell who passed away May 28, 2008, in Odessa. Gary was born on Sept. 30, 1946, in Inglewood, Calif., to Theodore Roosevelt Royal and Ada Roberta Robison Royal. His parents preceded him in death as did his grandparents, John and Myra Royal, and Lee and Beulah Robinson, and a nephew, Scot Shaw. Gary married Janet Lynn Adams on Jan. 16, 1988, in Roswell. His wife survives him at the family home. Gary is also survived by his daughter, Jennifer Royal Rosenbaum and husband, Randy; his sister, Ann Royal; his grandchildren, Quinn, Camble and Sloan; his nephew, Don Shaw (who was more like a brother); and niece, Valerie Lesley; as well as his canine daughters, Lucy and Shiloh Royal. Gary attended Hereford High School, Texas Tech University and Eastern New Mexico University. He lived in Roswell for 24 1/2 years and worked in construction. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Elks Lodge. Gary was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and the joy of his life was his triplet grandsons, Quinn, Camble and Sloan. He was an awesome "Papa." He was very patriotic and proud to have served his country in the Vietnam war. Gary was awarded the Purple Heart for his service in Vietnam. He also made life-long friends during his military service in the Army. He was an avid sportsman and gardener. He always said, "a bad day fishing is better then a good day working." He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
