More detail on this person: Harold Jerome Rucker Sr., 66, of Hayward, CA went home to be with the Lord, Mon., Jan. 12, 2015, at 6:30 am.

Harold was born on Nov. 6, 1948 in Cleveland, OH, the son of Rev Tony S. and Etta Ree Smith Rucker. He was married to Billie Ann Welch Rucker from 1968 to1978 and two children were born from that union. He later met Marva Lynn Hickman in 1985 where they formed a long time partnership until his death.

Harold graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Cleveland, OH in 1967. After high school, Harold served in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant, Aviation Commander and Helicopter Pilot. He served in the Vietnam War and later received an Army Aviator Badge, Vietnam Service Metal with one Bronze Service Star, Air Medal, and a Republic Vietnam Campaign Metal. Harold attended Evergreen College in San Jose, CA majoring in Electronics. Harold was employed by the Federal Aviation Administration as an Air Traffic Controller and later retired from the United States Postal Service.

He is survived by his partner Marva Hickman of Hayward, CA and two children, Harold Jerome Jr., of Elk Grove, CA and Teresa Delores of Monterey, CA, grandson, Jory of Los Angeles, CA and a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepmother, Gladys Rucker.

We celebrate a life well-lived and a person well-loved. Harold will be truly missed by all that knew him.
