More detail on this person: U-6 Beaver accident while serving as an observer at Ft. Sill. 25 AUG 65 CPT Gerald L. West [P] 1LT James L. Reed [P] Oklahoma USAAMS U-6A [Need Tail#] A/C crashed and burned at Ft Sill while practicing a barrier take-offs near Landing Strip 15 when wing struck the metal barrier pole, traveled about 200' and entered a left bank and wingtip struck the ground, separating from the fuselage. Crew was rehearsing for an Army Aviation Demonstration to be performed that Saturday.
