More detail on this person: Willard L Richards, age 56, passed away October 23, 2002 at his home due to complications from a long fight with ALS.

Willard was born December 4, 1945 to Edwin Clark and Sarah Bohn Richards in St. George, Utah. After serving an honorable LDS mission in England he married Nora Elizabeth Gilbert. He served honorably for the country he loved as a helicopter pilot during Vietnam. He later made his career as a computer analyst. Willard developed a special love for all of the young men he served during his many years in the scouting program. His strong testimony and love of Christ reflected in his continuous church service including the office of Patriarch (emeritus) at his death. His family was a source of great joy in his life and he spent many of his days surrounded by his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Nora; their children Emeline and Les Binning, Christel and John Stull, Tineke and Guy Patterson, Charity Richards, Faith and Kyle Cummings, Sterling James Richards (currently serving in the Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Mission); and nine grandchildren.

Willard is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Edwin James Richards and his eldest son Willard Gilbert Richards.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 28, 2002 at 11:00 am at the Woods Cross 8th LDS ward building, 1450 South 350 West, Bountiful. Friends may call Sunday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and Monday 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
