OBITUARIES Gazette, The (Colorado Springs, CO) - Tuesday, May 9, 1995 MIKE RODRIGUEZ, 64, who retired as a site supervisor for Lockheed Corp. after retiring from the Army, died May 8, 1995, in Colorado Springs. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave. A rosary will begin at 7 p.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2318 N. Cascade Ave. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Jim Pillar officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver. Mr. Rodriguez was born Dec. 23, 1930, in to Raphael Rodriguez and Juanita Olguin. He was married March 13, 1954, in Hartville, Wyo., to M. Margaret Chavez, who survives. He also is survived by a son, Michael of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two daughters, Leigh Ann Alvarez of Jacksonville, Fla., and Carol Lenahan of Colorado Springs; three brothers, Felix Martinez of Corona, Calif., Jess of Hartville and Robert Martinez of San Jose, Calif.; four sisters, Nellie Gonzalez of Laramie, Wyo., Nettie Abeyta of Denver, Mary Lou Montoya of Wheatland, Wyo., and Jessica Grable of Cheyenne; and seven grandchildren. He had two brothers, Fred and Meline Martinez, who are deceased. Mr. Rodriguez received an associate's degree from Troy State University in Alabama. Serving in the Army from 1952 to 1983, Mr. Rodriguez was a helicopter pilot and completed two tours in the Vietnam War. He also served in the Korean War and attained the rank of chief warrant officer. He had been an area resident since 1976 and was a member of The Retired Officers Association, the Retired Enlisted Association, Retired Warrant Officers Association, Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
