More detail on this person: Obituary for Harold "Hal" Beal Smith Harold Beal "Hal" Smith, age 75, of Powder Springs, GA passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 from complications of cancer and pneumonia after a valiant 5 year fight. Memorial Services will be held at 3pm on Friday, December 5, 2014 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. A native of Childress, TX, Mr. Smith moved to Cobb County in 1990 from Stone Mountain. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the United States Army, having served 2 tours in Vietnam with 21 years of service. While serving in Korea from 1980 - 1982, Hal and his wife adopted their 2 children. He also was as a real estate inverstor for the past 42 years. Survivors include: Wife, Jeannette Smith; 2 Children, Alycia J. Smith, Brookhaven, GA and California, and Brenton K. Smith, Powder Springs, GA; 4 Siblings, Billy Van (Sue) Smith, Texas, Jerry Dean Smith, Texas, Linda Sue Trent, Texas, and Stephen (Janie) Smith, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project @ www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate, or to the Paralyzed Veterans of America @ www.PVA.org. The family will receive friends Friday from 2pm until 3pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
