More detail on this person: LTC (ret) Michael V. Stratton was a 1968 Infantry Officer Candidate School graduate, Ranger, Army aviator/test pilot who served from 1967 until 1988. He graduated with flight class 69-18. He was a Vietnam veteran who served with distinction for 2 1/2 years as a helicopter pilot with the 187 AHC in 69-70 and C/2/17 CAV 101 ABN in 70-71 and an infantry company commander.

Upon his retirement from the Army, he worked as an aeronautical engineer for L-3 Communications. His most recent project was the F-18 flight simulator.

On July 9, LTC Stratton died in a tragic accident. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Elizabeth, and their three children, Michelle, Sarah and Victor.
