More detail on this person: Major Louis Lorenzo Share, AUS, Retired, passed peacefully on December 18, 2017 with his devoted wife and loving family at his side. In attendance were staff from Hospice of Marion County who helped provide care with the utmost respect and kindness. Major Share is survived by his wife, Clarice Share; and children, Rick Share of Atlanta, GA; Linda Share of Dallas, TX; Kelley and Bob Burns of Waleska, GA; Steve Treaster of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Julie Treaster of Ocala, FL; and grandson, Ethan Treaster of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; as well as our beloved little sister; Ivy Luna. Louis was a proud veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and of note, served with distinction as the youngest NCO with the 17th Artillery Battalion during the Korean War. At one time he commanded Company A, 1st Material Maintenance Battalion aboard the USNS Corpus Christi Bay off Vietnam. He retired in December 1972 after being assigned to the USA Agency for Aviation Safety and aided in writing several flight manuals. He was dual rated and qualified in every Army helicopter except the OH6. After retiring from active duty Major Share was employed as a Contractor Aircraft Maintenance Test Pilot for the Army Aviation Test Board. In 1977, he was employed at Ft. Rucker as a Contractor Primary Flight Instructor and retired as Assistant Flight Commander, Primary Flight Division and retired in 1993. His total Flight time was in excess of 11,000 accident free hours. Since retiring, he has been active in the Ocala West United Methodist Church and has served as Treasurer of the Florida Council of Military Officers Association of America Chapters and numerous positions with the local Kingdom of the Sun MOAA Chapter, including President. He has been a member of the Army Aviation Association of America for over 50 years as well as other military associations. Louis was a lifetime member of several organizations including the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association and the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Hospice of Marion County at P.O. Box 4860, Ocala, Fl., 34474 Celebration of life/memorial will be held at a later date.
